How we can help you?

Redress for Historical Institutional Abuse is for people who experienced physical, emotional or psychological abuse and neglect as children in institutional settings in Victoria before 1990.

You are eligible to apply for the Redress Scheme if you:

  • lived as a child (before the age of 18) in a Victorian institution for at least 6 months (in total) before 1 January 1990
  • experienced physical, psychological, or emotional abuse or neglect in the Victorian institution.

Further information about the offerings, eligibility, and application process can be found here with link to Redress for Historical Institutional Abuse – DFFH Services

Understanding that the processes required for making an application can be traumatic, Connecting Home is here to support those eligible in gaining access to this package.  Applications opened on 10 December 2024 and are expected to be open for 18 months.
